CIA 'in cahoots with' European spy agencies to undermine Trump’s Ukraine plan: Ex-US national security adviser

The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has worked in coordination with European intelligence agencies to undermine US President Donald Trump’s efforts to purportedly end the war in Ukraine, says a former US national security adviser.

Michael Flynn said via X on Sunday that the CIA is “in cahoots with MI6 and others in the EU intelligence community,” actively blocking Trump’s attempts to bring an end to the Russia-Ukraine war.

“The EU aka NATO (minus the United States) desperately wants war with Russia … Warmongers in our own administration as well as the Congress want perpetual war,” Flynn wrote.

Flynn urged Trump to disregard the narrative promoted by Kiev’s European supporters, emphasizing that the president must adopt a firm stance independent of European pressure and the selective intelligence shaping US policy.

The former adviser also criticized the US government’s financial support for Ukraine, noting that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has suppressed opposition and postponed elections under the pretext of war.

“We the People of the United States no longer want this war. We do not want to spend another penny on a tin pot dictator who arrests opposition voices, including in his own Rada [Congress], and the media,” Flynn wrote.

In late September, Flynn suggested that Trump should establish an “operations center” within the White House to provide direct and unfiltered intelligence, “operating in parallel to the Pentagon and CIA.”

This proposal received support from Kirill Dmitriev, economic adviser to Russian President Vladimir Putin, who has been involved in negotiations to normalize relations with Washington.

Flynn’s statements coincide with sensitive US-Russia preliminary deliberations in Miami, where Russian envoys met with Trump adviser Steve Witkoff and his son-in-law Jared Kushner to explore a potential framework for peace.

Moscow has repeatedly highlighted the interference of NATO’s European members in these discussions, including efforts to dilute US proposals and seize frozen Russian assets to finance Kiev.

Russian officials have praised rare voices in the West challenging the European “war lobby” and its determination to extend the conflict for strategic gain.

The Ukraine conflict, which began in 2022, arose after years of Western political and military interference in Kiev, which Moscow viewed as destabilizing the region along Russia’s borders and threatening its national interests.
