Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson says a US strike on an environmental ranger post in Hormozgan, which martyred three members of a ranger's family, constitutes a war crime against Iran, and humanity.
In a post published on social media platform X on Wednesday, Esmaeil Baghaei wrote that the terrorist US army targeted the head ranger's post in Seyed Jowzar village in Hajiabad County, in Hormozgan Province on Tuesday.
He said the strike martyred three members of the family of park ranger Javad Hassanzadeh, condemning it as the latest example of US war crimes against Iran.
"The list of US crimes against the Iranian people runs longer every day, and with each passing day Washington reveals a new face of its hostility toward Iran," Baghaei noted.
He said the Hormozgan attack was only the latest in a series of "heinous US war crimes" committed during the past four and a half months, which began with the assassination of Iranian leaders and the killing of Iranian women, men and children in Minab and Lamerd.
On the first day of the US-Israeli aggression against Iran on February 28, the terrorist US army struck Shajareh Tayyebeh Elementary School in Minab, Hormozgan Province, martyring 156 people, including 120 schoolchildren.
The US military also struck a sports hall in Lamerd, Fars Province, martyring 21 people and injuring around 100 others, according to Iranian officials.
Baghaei stressed that every new crime only strengthens the determination of the Iranian people to pursue justice and ensure the prosecution and punishment of those who ordered and carried out the attacks.
The latest attacks come as US hit civilian infrastructure across southwestern Iran on Wednesday, including a wheat storage silo in Hoveyzeh and another location in Dasht-e Azadegan in Khuzestan Province, although no casualties were reported.
Earlier strikes on an agricultural water pumping station in Mahshahr martyred one guard and wounded four others.
Separate attacks on Abadan also resulted in the martyrdom of three people and injured several others, according to Iranian officials.
A mineral water production plant near Mousiyan in Ilam Province was also struck by three projectiles, damaging part of the facility's equipment and infrastructure.
In response to Washington's latest aggression, Iran's Armed Forces have carried out several rounds of drone and missile strikes against US military assets across the region under the operation "Thunderstorm."
Meanwhile, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz until further notice, saying the strategic waterway will remain closed until the US and its allies end their intervention and military operations in the region.
The latest round of US-Israeli aggression against Iran began on February 28, when Washington and Tel Aviv forces launched large-scale strikes on Iranian territory.
Iran responded with daily waves of missiles and drones targeting US and Israeli assets under the operational codename "True Promise 4."
Although Iran and the US signed the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on June 17 aimed at ending the aggression, US carries out repeated attacks on southern Iran in violation of the agreement.
Iranian authorities have since suspended all contact with Washington until it ends its military attacks and hostile rhetoric.
