Hundreds of mourners gathered in Tanzania on Sunday to commemorate the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, in a show of solidarity with millions of Iranians taking part in funeral processions across Iran.

Hundreds of people attended the memorial ceremony at the Cultural Center of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania's largest city, where participants paid tribute to the late Leader.

Large billboards bearing portraits of Ayatollah Khamenei, alongside a symbolic image of his raised, clenched fist, were displayed by supporters in several Tanzanian cities.

The ceremony began with a seminar honoring Ayatollah Khamenei's life and legacy. Addressing the gathering, Islamic scholar Sheikh Mulaba Saleh paid tribute to the Leader, describing him as "a great and fatherly figure who commanded the respect of the world."

Ayatollah Khamenei, Saleh continued, devoted his life to God and "used all the blessings bestowed upon him to guide humanity from darkness to light and to free people from oppression and injustice."

Iran's ambassador to Tanzania, Mohammad Javad Hemmatpanah, also addressed the ceremony, highlighting the martyred Leader's deep belief in the role of young people in advancing the goals of the Islamic system.

Ayatollah Khamenei was assassinated by the United States and Israel in an attack on his office in Tehran on February 28, the first day of a joint aggression against Iran.

A week-long series of funeral ceremonies for the martyred Leader began on Friday, with foreign dignitaries and religious figures paying their respects at Tehran's Imam Khomeini Mosalla, followed by public farewell ceremonies and funeral prayers in Tehran and the holy city of Qom.

The ceremonies are scheduled to continue in the holy Iraqi cities of Najaf and Karbala on Wednesday before concluding on July 9 in Ayatollah Khamenei's hometown of Mashhad, where he will be laid to rest at the shrine of Imam Reza (AS), the eight Shia Imam.
