Leader’s martyrdom will drive Iran to greater dignity and victory: Senior cleric
Ayatollah Alireza Arafi, a member of Iran’s interim leadership council, said on Monday that the martyrdom of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei will serve as the driving force for the propulsion of the Islamic Republic towards further dignity, grandeur, and sublime aspirations.
Ayatollah Arafi confirmed that the interim leadership council was formed under Article 111 of Iran’s Constitution and “will honor its duties through regular sessions.”
He noted that the news of Ayatollah Khamenei’s martyrdom sent a “tremor” throughout the Muslim world, striking the hearts of Muslims globally and the Iranian nation with deep grief.
The senior cleric underlined that Ayatollah Khamenei had devised strategic plans for the ongoing military confrontation with the United States and Israel, affirming that the Iranian armed forces, alongside the great Iranian nation, are “firmly and strongly withstanding a very savage war of aggression.”
Arafi expressed gratitude to the devoted armed forces for their national resilience and paid homage to regional resistance groups and the free people of the world.
He stated that the nation’s men and women, alongside the country’s brave and self-sacrificing armed forces, are successfully navigating one of the most arduous confrontations under severe constraints.
“This time, too, the Iranian nation will overcome these hardships and will reap the sweet reward of victory,” he said.
He added that the United States and the Israeli regime have once again miscalculated with their “wrong, incorrect, and brutal action.”
Arafi also praised the mass public turnout during recent events, expressing hope that “victory and impressive advancements are on the horizon.”
He clarified that the interim leadership council will fulfil its duties with great precision until the Assembly of Experts appoints the next Leader of the Islamic Revolution.
He concluded by assuring the armed forces and the Iranian nation that all national resources are at their disposal, confirming that every state institution is working at maximum capacity to fulfil its duties.”
