Power, resistance defeated US plots against Iran: Senior MP

Chairman the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Ebrahim Azizi

A senior member of Iranian parliament says the country has successfully dismantled all US plots against Iran through steadfastness and power.

Ebrahim Azizi, who chairs the parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, said on Sunday that the United States has continuously failed to sow chaos and discord in Iran since the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979.

Azizi said the key to the Iranian nation's success in countering US plots has been its resistance and strength.

“The Americans have failed to achieve their goals in various wars and projects against the Islamic Republic of Iran, and they understand only the language of authority, resistance, and steadfastness of the Iranian nation,” he said.

The MP made the comments while speaking about the two US-Israeli wars of aggression against Iran over the past year.

He said the reason US President Donald Trump launched the aggressions in June 2025 and February 2026 was his flawed understanding of Iran and his miscalculation about the country’s military power.

Azizi said that Americans have always sought to abuse international laws and regulations to impose their will on Iran over the past five decades.

“Over the years, the Americans have shown that they adhere to none of the principles and foundations of international law, and that malice, criminality, and anti-human acts are inherent to their nature,” he said.

The senior MP said that the US will never achieve the goals it was pursuing before the recent war of aggression, as he insisted that Iran is constantly ready to respond to threats.

Azizi also made a reference to the ongoing conflict in Lebanon, where Iranian-allied resistance forces have been fighting the Israeli regime since the start of the US-Israeli aggression against Iran, adding that the US plot to weaken the resistance in Lebanon will definitely fail.
