US military buildup near Iran proves defeat in previous regional wars: Ansarullah

Nasruddin Amer, deputy head of the Ansarullah media office

A senior member of the Yemeni Ansarullah resistance movement says the US buildup of warships and fighter jets near Iran, as well as threats of a new round of aggression against the Islamic Republic and the Axis of Resistance, attest to the defeat of Washington and Tel Aviv in previous wars in the West Asia region.

“Talk of a new war is a sign that global Zionism, with all its sophisticated munitions and military hardware, has failed to overcome the Axis of Resistance, which includes all oppressed, freedom-loving and vigilant peoples of the Muslim world,” Nasruddin Amer, deputy head of the Ansarullah media office, wrote in a post published on his Telegram account on Friday.

He added, “If the Axis of Resistance, as the enemies have been propagating in the past few months, had been defeated, then what is the rationale behind the ongoing campaign and the deployment of [maritime] fleets? Talk of a new war is proof of the enemies’ defeat in the past offensives.”

Last month, Yemen’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Abdulwahab Abu Ras, issued a stark warning, stating that any potential military aggression by the United States under President Donald Trump against the Islamic Republic of Iran would be destined for “inevitable failure and loss.”

Abu Ras described recent targeting of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) by “Western arrogance, American imperialism, and the Israeli enemy entity” as clear evidence of the force’s effectiveness and impact in confronting destructive Israeli plots in the region.

“The Western powers’ system wants weak and feeble Arab and Islamic forces, tools to implement its satanic agenda in the region,” Abu Ras stated, outlining a narrative of resistance versus foreign domination.

He emphasized the resilience of Iran, stating that the IRGC specifically, and the Islamic Republic in general, are “indomitable and unbreakable.”

The Yemeni diplomat further affirmed that “the enemy entity is too weak to harm this steadfastness or break this will.”

On Friday, the Iranian ambassador and permanent representative to the United Nations criticized recent remarks made by the US president as breaches of international law, calling for swift measures to avert further tensions and cautioning that Iran will assert its legitimate right to self-defense under the UN Charter if assaulted.

In a formal letter dated February 19 and addressed to United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and UN Security Council President James Kariuki, Amir Saeid Iravani cited the repeated and explicit US threats of the use of force, including references to potential military operations launched from Diego Garcia and other regional bases.

The Iranian envoy asserted that such statements constitute a breach of Article 2(4) of the Charter of the United Nations and risk destabilizing an already volatile region.
