Israel war crimes in Gaza
The United Nations Secretary-General has strongly criticized Israel’s so-called military operation in the Gaza Strip, saying there is something fundamentally wrong about how it was carried out. Speaking to Reuters, Antonio Guterres said Israel’s military onslaught was conducted with total neglect in relation to the deaths of civilians and destruction of Gaza. He emphasized that there are strong reasons to believe that war crimes have been committed in Gaza. Guterres said Israel claimed that its operation is aimed at eliminating Hamas, but after two years of bloodshed, Hamas remains in place while Gaza has been left in ruins. Israeli forces have killed tens of thousands of civilians during their two-year genocide in Gaza. Hundreds of Gazans have also lost their lives in nearly two months that have passed since the Gaza ceasefire deal entered into force.
Intl. law breaches in Gaza
Israeli forces have bulldozed the bodies of Palestinian civilians killed during the regime’s genocide into shallow, unmarked graves near the Zikim crossing in northern Gaza. This, according to a new investigation by CNN news network. CNN’s report said in some cases, the regime’s forces left the remains of Palestinian victims exposed to decompose in the open. According to the channel, the report is based on hundreds of videos and photos taken from the vicinity of the Zikim crossing, along with interviews with eyewitnesses and local aid truck drivers. The investigation indicated that Palestinians seeking humanitarian aid in Gaza were also killed by indiscriminate Israeli fire near the crossing. The report added that according to legal experts, the practice of mishandling bodies by bulldozing them into unmarked graves violates international law. It stressed that international law requires all warring sides to cooperate in burying the dead in a way that allows them to be identified.
Israel Gaza ceasefire violations
More civilians fall victim to Israel’s fresh attacks across the Gaza Strip, as the regime’s forces press ahead with their blatant violations of the ceasefire agreement. According to Gaza’s medical sources, six civilians, including two children, were killed and nearly a dozen others injured in an Israeli attack on Palestinian refugees' tents in Khan Yunis, in southern Gaza. Hamas condemned the attack as a clear war crime and a violation of the ceasefire agreement, holding Israel fully responsible for its consequences. Two Palestinians were also killed by Israeli forces in the Zeitoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City. Local sources reported that Israeli warplanes launched a series of intense airstrikes east of Khan Yunis on Wednesday, resulting in material damage, as massive explosions rocked the area. Israeli tanks and artillery fire also kept pounding areas east of Khan Yunis. Over 360 Palestinians have been killed, most of them children and women, since the ceasefire took effect in October. The death toll from the Gaza genocide is now near 70,120, with about 171,000 others injured.
