Rejecting US allegations

Iran has categorically rejected the accusations raised by the United States against Tehran with regard to the situation in Yemen and the Red Sea. The comment was made by Iran's permanent ambassador in a letter to the UN chief and the president of the Security Council. Amir Saeid Iravani said Washington's accusations about Tehran violating Security Council Resolution 2216 were entirely unfounded, and devoid of credible evidence. He added that Iran remains fully committed to its international obligations, and continues to support peaceful, inclusive, and Yemeni-led political process in the Arab country. Iravani stressed that for nearly a decade, the US has supported a devastating war and unlawful blockade against the people of Yemen, which has created one of the world's worst humanitarian crises. He also lambasted the US for abusing the Security Council to deflect attention from its own military involvement in Yemen, and its support for Israel's aggression in Yemen and the entire region.

US-Israeli Gaza genocide

Death and destruction are ravaging across Gaza, as the Israeli military presses ahead with its air and artillery strikes on the war-ravaged territory. In one of the latest attacks, several Palestinians were killed and wounded after the Israeli bombing of a residential building near Imam al-Shafi'i School in Gaza City’s al-Zaytoun neighborhood. Meanwhile, Israeli gunboats struck Palestinian homes on Abu Hasira Street, west of Gaza City, killing and injuring several civilians. The Israeli bombardment of another building, west of Gaza City, left several fatalities. An entire Palestinian family, with nearly a dozen members, was also killed in an Israeli airstrike in Gaza City’s al-Tuffah neighborhood. The ongoing Israeli genocide, which began in October 2023, has so far killed more than 58,570 Palestinians, leaving over 139,600 others injured, most of them women and children.

Yemen anti-Israel operations

The Yemeni army has launched new retaliatory operations against Israeli targets deep inside the occupied territories in support of the Palestinian people in Gaza. Saree reaffirmed that Yemen will continue its efforts to block navigation of Israel-related vessels in the Red and Arabian seas. He reiterated a warning to all companies working with ports in occupied Palestine, saying their vessels will be targeted wherever Yemeni forces are able to reach. Saree also emphasized that the Yemeni army will not hesitate to expand its military operations in response to the genocide being committed in Gaza. He vowed that operations will continue until the aggression against Gaza ends and its blockade is lifted.
