Iran port explosion

At least 14 people have been killed and nearly 750 injured after a massive explosion rocked a key port in southern Iran. The explosion occurred at the Shahid Rajaee port dock in the city of Bandar Abbas. The director general of Hormozgan’s crisis management department said the cause of the huge explosion has not been determined yet. Following the incident, all port operations were suspended as security and emergency teams worked to secure the area. Authorities immediately declared a state of emergency at hospitals across Bandar Abbas in preparation for the arrival of mass casualties. Dozens of Iranians have lined up outside medical centers to donate blood for the victims. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has extended his sympathies to the families of the victims and dispatched Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni to oversee an investigation. Many countries, including Iraq, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkmenistan, have also extended condolences following the incident.

US revokes UNRWA immunity

Hamas has strongly condemned the US Justice Department's decision to revoke legal immunity for the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA). In a statement, Hamas described the move as evidence of US bias towards Israel and an attempt to liquidate the agency, which it called a symbol of Palestinian refugees' right to relief and return. The group demanded an immediate reversal of the "grave decision" by the US administration and urged the international community to reject it. Hamas called for continued funding and preservation of UNRWA's political and legal status. Furthermore, Hamas reiterated its call for Washington to cease its bias towards Israel and its participation in aggression against Palestinians, particularly in Gaza. UNRWA has long been a target of attacks and harassment by the Israeli regime, which has repeatedly called for it to be dismantled.

Israel crimes in West Bank

Palestinians in the occupied West Bank are continuously targeted by daily violent raids conducted by Israeli forces and settlers across the territory. In one of the latest cases, a young Palestinian man succumbed to his wounds in the town of Beit Furik, east of Nablus. According to medical sources, the 30-year-old Ahmed Nasasra was badly wounded two months ago during intensive confrontations with Israeli forces. In a new incursion, two Palestinian civilians were injured in an attack by Israeli settlers on the village of Kobar, northwest of Ramallah. Local media reported that a group of Israeli settlers abducted two young brothers, subjecting them to abuse and physical assault. In a separate incident, the regime’s forces brutally suppressed Palestinians’ protest against settlers’ attempts to seize their lands in the village of al-Zweidin, south of Al-Khalil. The Israeli military forced residents to leave their lands, declaring the area a closed military zone.
