US-Israeli genocide in Gaza
With no end in sight to the nearly 10-month war on Gaza, more Palestinians fall victims to the incessant Israeli bombing and shelling campaign across the besieged territory. In one of the latest strikes, at least two civilians were killed, and several others injured after their house was hit in the central Gaza City of Deir al-Balah. In a separate attack, the regime’s drone strike on the al-Sabra neighborhood left at least one Palestinian dead. To the south of Gaza City, three people were killed in an airstrike on a car in the al-Zaytoun neighborhood. Earlier, at least 30 Palestinians were killed, and many others injured in Israeli bombings of two schools sheltering internally displaced people in the Nasr neighborhood, west of Gaza City. The Israeli aggression against Gaza, which began in October, has so far claimed the lives of nearly 40,000 people and injured more than 90,000 others.
Hezbollah retaliation
The Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah says it has targeted an Israeli military headquarters in the northern occupied Palestinian territories with a squadron of suicide drones. Hezbollah said the aerial attack was launched from Lebanon on Israel’s newly established 91st Division in the Elite Barracks, located in the Upper Galilee region. It added that a number of the regime’s forces were killed or injured in the drone strike. The resistance movement noted that the air raid was carried out in support of Gaza and in retaliation for the regime’s assassinations of its members during attacks on several Lebanese towns. Since the start of the Israeli genocide in Gaza, Hezbollah and the regime’s military have been exchanging fires along Lebanon’s southern border.
Israeli assassination of Haniyeh
Iran’s president has slammed Israel’s assassination of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh as a move against all international laws, saying the Zionist regime’s crime will not go unanswered. Masoud Pezeshkian said Israel made a big mistake by killing Haniyeh. He added, Iran expects all Islamic countries and freedom-seeking people worldwide to strongly condemn such crimes. Pezeshkian noted that the biggest enemies and violators of freedom, democracy and human rights are making use of their maximum capabilities to carry out assassinations, and commit heinous crimes. The Iranian President made the remarks in a meeting with visiting Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi in Tehran. Ayman told Pezeshkian that Amman denounces Israel’s assassination of Haniyeh. The top Jordanian diplomat also said the killing was in line with the Israeli prime minister’s efforts to escalate tensions in West Asia.
