The Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) has offered condolences to Secretary General of Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah over the passing of his mother.

In separate messages on Tuesday, IRIB chief Peyman Jebelli and the state-run broadcaster’s World Service deputy Ahmad Norouzi wished divine mercy for Nasrallah’s mother, Mahdiyya Safi al-Din.

They implored God to grant the Hezbollah leader patience after the demise of his mother.

Nasrallah’s mother, generally known by her nickname Sayyeda Umm Hassan, died on Saturday after a period of illness. She was buried in the southern suburb of Beirut following a funeral attended by a large crowd and senior Lebanese officials.

Earlier, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei expressed condolences over the passing of Nasrallah’s mother.
