The Chief of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces has warned that the Israeli regime is staging “self-harm” false-flag operations against Jewish communities abroad to stoke fears of anti-Semitism.
“They (Zionists) have assassinated the Jewish community and their affiliates in other countries to prevent reverse migration, escape internal turmoil, and instill anti-Semitism,” Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi said on Sunday.
Referring to a deadly attack at a Jewish event in Sydney, Australia, last week, he said it is not the first time that Jews have been targeted in an attempt to portray Israel as a victim. He asserted that the regime has repeatedly committed such crimes in the past.
Mousavi’s remarks came after at least 15 people were killed, and dozens were injured when two gunmen, a father and son, opened fire at a Jewish festival in Sydney, Australia, last week.
Iran condemned the “violent” attack, with Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei saying, “Terror violence and mass killing shall be condemned, wherever they're committed, as unlawful and criminal.”
The top Iranian general further said the events of the past two years have exposed the “criminal” nature of the United States and the Israeli regime to the world.
Mousavi added that the “deceitful and warmongering” enemies of Iran do not adhere to any international law or human norms.
He, however, emphasized that Iran has chosen the path of “resistance and becoming more powerful,” which is the “path of dignity and independence."
Iran’s Armed Forces and the resilient nation will prevail united and cohesive over all conspiracies by pursuing the guidelines of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, he said.
