Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has offered condolences to the secretary general of the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah over the passing of his mother.

Ayatollah Khamenei issued a message on Monday to express his sympathy with Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah on the loss of his mother Mahdiyya Safi al-Din two days earlier.

In the message, the Leader said that the fact that Nasrallah, whom he described as the “indefatigable leader of the Resistance”, had been raised in the arms of a pious woman like his mother was a sign of her magnificence and dignity.

Ayatollah Khamenei implored God to bestow his grace and mercy on Nasrallah’s mother while praying for blessing of the Hezbollah leader and his brave comrades in regional resistance groups.

Nasrallah’s mother, generally known by her nickname Sayyeda Umm Hassan, died on May 25 after a period of illness. She was buried in a cemetery in the southern suburb of Beirut on Sunday after a funeral attended by a large crowd and senior Lebanese officials.
