The commander of the Iranian Air Force has visited the families of the pilot, co-pilot and crew of the helicopter transporting President Ebrahim Raeisi and his companions who passed away in a crash on May 19.

Brigadier General Hamid Vahedi, along with Second Brigadier General Massoud Jafari, commander of Shahid Lashgari Air Base of the Iranian Army’s Air Force in Mehrabad, met with the bereaved on Tuesday to extend condolences and express sympathy.

The Iranian commander said the martyrs were a beacon of inspiration.

He said the families of the martyrs are the pride of the nation.

He further noted that the Air Force has spared no effort in protecting Iran’s sovereignty since the early years of the Islamic Revolution. This, the commander underscored, would not have been achieved had it not been for the support of the martyrs’ families.
