Iran: Israel's killing of journalists 'ignominious blot' on face of Zionist regime

Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kan'ani

Iran has strongly denounced the Israeli regime's killing of journalists in the Gaza Strip, saying the murders cannot help conceal the crimes of the Zionist regime and its supporters.

Foreign ministry spokesman Nasser Kana'ani made the remarks in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Tuesday after it was revealed that the Israeli regime's ongoing war on Gaza had so far killed as many as 19 journalists.

Taking the lives of journalists does not help cover up the fact that "the Zionist regime and its leaders stand as war criminals, and those who support them are entwined in these transgressions."

Israel launched the devastating war after the Gaza-based Palestinian resistance groups staged Operation al-Aqsa Storm, a surprise attack on the occupied territories, in response to the Israeli regime’s intensified crimes against the Palestinian people.

According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, the Israeli aggression against Gaza has so far killed more than 5,700 people and left over 18,000 others wounded.

Kan'ani described the Israeli atrocities as an "ignominious blot" that "shall forever be a stain on the visage of the Zionist regime and its backers."

"In the face of such manifold atrocities, no awakened conscience can remain mute," he concluded.
