US political wrangling

Former US President Donald Trump has slammed his country’s justice system as corrupt, a day after he was indicted on 37 charges linked to mishandling of top-secret documents. Trump said the indictment is baseless and will go down "among the most horrific abuses of power in US history". The ex-president said this is led by what he called a weaponized department of injustice. He was hinting at the 2024 presidential race, where he is pitted against President Joe Biden. Trump says the charges are pushed against him because he is running for a second term in the White House. He faces a trial in Miami in a few days for risking the US national security by withholding classified defense information and obstruction of justice, among other things.
