US Gun Violence

A teenage gunman murdered at least 19 children and two teachers in a Texas school. It is the deadliest US school shooting in nearly a decade.

Biden has urged Americans to confront gun lobby and pressure Congress to tighten laws. Stating the incident as “heartbroken”, Pope has condemned arms trade. Multiple initiatives to reform US gun regulations have failed in Congress.

Press TV interviews Gerald Horne, professor of African American Studies at University of Houston from Houston, Texas, and David Swanson director of World Beyond War from Charlottesville to look at why mass shootings take place in the US more than any other country in the world and why there is no will on the part of the Republicans or Democrats to put an end to this wave of violence.
