An Iraqi political commentator says the Israeli regime and the United States collaborate in targeting Iran’s nuclear energy program, outlining the reason behind Washington’s role in the acts nuclear terrorism.

“The US and Israel jointly participate in attacks on Iran’s nuclear installations,” Mo’ayyed Ali told Press TV in an interview on Wednesday.

The US targets Iran’s nuclear program “because this program takes Iran to the heights of advancement,” and Washington is “daunted” by Iran’s progress, he said.

The analyst referred to the US as “the mother of terrorism,” noting how Washington’s terror activities ranged from backing extremist and Takfiri outfits to attacking non-aligned countries that opposed the American schemes and bringing them under sanctions.

Besides, the US that was grappling with multiple crises at home was trying to destabilize the region so it can destroy the regional countries’ sovereignty and security and gain dominance over their means and resources, Ali stated.

Washington and Tel Aviv were, on the other hand, trying to use such attacks to try and fuel Iranophobia and paint a frightening image of Iran’s powers and capabilities in the eyes of some other states, the commentator said.

In 2011, the US and Israel collaborated in a cyberattack on Iran’s nuclear program, using a piece of malware dubbed Stuxnet.

The analyst’s assessment of the regimes’ collaboration in the acts of sabotage aimed at the Islamic Republic’s nuclear work came after one such operation targeted Iran’s Natanz Nuclear Facility on Sunday.

Tehran considers the Israeli regime to be responsible for the operation that saw power being cut across the installation. Officials, however, said the incident had not led to any casualties, damages or complications.

This is not the first time the Israeli regime tries to adversely affect Iran’s nuclear work.

Last year too, Natanz was targeted in another "terrorist move” to blow up parts of the installation in an attack that Tel Aviv has been suspected of orchestrating. The regime has also martyred as many as seven Iranian nuclear scientists in the past.

The occupying regime has, nevertheless, always evaded accountability for its acts of terrorism across the region as well as its own military nuclear program all thanks to the US’s protecting it from having to answer to international organizations over the issues.

The Iraqi expert regretted that many international bodies “are tied to the US and Israel in various ways, and have closed their eyes on the parties possessing non-conventional weapons.”

This, he added, explains the dual attitude that is adopted by such organizations when they are expected to deal with various cases.

The commentator, however, expressed certainty that Iran was fully aware of the nature of the recent sabotage. It was because of this awareness that the Islamic Republic has announced preparedness to start enriching uranium at 60-percetn purity level in response to the US-Israeli operation.

“Iran’s power and resistance will lead all adversarial plots to defeat,” the expert concluded.
