Swedish-born Iranian footballer Saman Ghoddos, who had initially been linked with a move to join Spanish football club Sociedad Deportiva Huesca, is on the verge of landing in Stade Rennais Football Club, which currently plays in the top tier of French football – Ligue 1.

There are reports that the 24-year-old footballer’s Swedish club Östersunds FK has accepted an offer from the French side on Ghoddos move for 3.5 million euros ($ 4 million), with 20 percent of the contract value in case of re-sale.

Ghoddos was a substitute for the Iran men’s national football team, nicknamed Team Melli, during the squad’s three matches against Morocco, Spain and Portugal at the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia.

The young Iranian sportsman has so far this season scored ten goals in 20 games for Östersunds FK. He is reportedly under contract with the Swedish club until 2020.
