Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has congratulated the country's physics Olympiad team on its outstanding performance at the 56th International Physics Olympiad (IPhO 2026), praising the students for bringing another scientific honor to Iran.
In a message on Sunday, Pezeshkian said the team's performance, which earned Iran first place in the competition's experimental section, reflected the country's scientific capabilities, the exceptional talent of its students and their dedication.
"This valuable achievement is a clear sign of the scientific ability, outstanding talent and remarkable perseverance of the youth of this land," he said, congratulating the students, their families, teachers and the country's scientific community.
The president said building a better future requires greater investment in human capital, high-quality education and equal opportunities for young people to develop their talents.
The students, he added, had once again shown that "knowledge, hard work and hope" are the keys to success on the international stage.
Held in Bucaramanga, Colombia, from July 4 to 12, the 56th International Physics Olympiad brought together participants from more than 90 countries. Iran finished first in the experimental section, with its team winning three gold medals and two silver medals.
