Production of drones tripled in war of aggression against Iran: Caretaker defense minister

The caretaker Iranian defense minister says production of various types of domestically developed unmanned aerial vehicles recorded a threefold increase in the midst of the recent US-Israeli war of aggression against the Islamic Republic, stressing that the manufacture of indigenous munitions and military hardware was in full swing at the time.

“At a meeting with members of the Parliament’s Commission on National Security and Foreign Policy, I emphasized that the recent onslaught revealed that Iranian elites, coupled with investment in cutting-edge technologies, constitute the most important pillar of the country's defense might,” Brigadier General Majid Ibn al-Reza wrote in a post published on the social media platform X on Saturday.

He added, “Not only did the production of defense equipment continue uninterrupted in the midst of the war, but our drone production capacity also grew threefold.”

“Thanks to the measures put in place and the proper design of the defense industries, missile and drone production did not stop on any day of the war,” he added.

“Production capacity even increased in a way that the capacity of drone production was tripled during the war,” the top defense official emphasized.

He said Iran faced some of the world’s “most advanced military, intelligence and psychological warfare” capabilities during the US-Israeli 12-day and 40-day wars against the Islamic Republic.

According to Defense Ministry assessments, Ibn Reza added, more than 150 of the world’s leading technological firms had collaborated with the United States and the Israeli regime, placing their latest achievements at the disposal of the enemy.

Ibn Reza once reiterated the Armed Forces’ full preparedness and their continued efforts to enhance the country’s defense and deterrence capabilities.

“We know the enemy’s weaknesses well and are fully aware of our own capabilities. Under the guidance of the commander-in-chief, the Armed Forces are continuously strengthening the country’s defense power,” he remarked.

The United States and Israel waged their second war of aggression against Iran on February 28, with the assassination of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and several high-ranking military commanders.

In response, the Iranian Armed Forces executed 100 waves of counterattacks over 40 days, targeting US and Israeli military assets, which resulted in significant damage.

On June 15, Washington and Tehran announced a Pakistani-mediated agreement aimed at ceasing military operations across various fronts, including Lebanon, reopening the Strait of Hormuz, and lifting the naval blockade on Iran.
