On Wednesday, Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) officials said any renewed military aggression would be met with a different and more powerful response.
President Masoud Pezeshkian said the main battlefield between Iran and foreign adversaries has shifted to the economy and livelihoods.
The Intelligence Ministry reported increased hostile activity by the enemies through economic pressure, cyberattacks, terrorism, and psychological warfare.
Officials further noted maritime arrangements in the Strait of Hormuz and the restoration of production at the South Pars industrial hub attacked during the recent imposed war.
Key developments on day 89 of the war, the forty-ninth day of the ceasefire:
- President Pezeshkian said the main battlefield between Iran and its adversaries has shifted to the economy and people's livelihoods, describing the private sector as bearing the brunt of an "economic war" waged by hostile powers.
- Ali Naderi, the head of public relations of the aerospace force of the IRGC, said any renewed military aggression against Iran would trigger a different and more powerful response, “unlike anything they have seen before.”
- Iran’s Intelligence Ministry said the enemies, having failed to achieve their professed objectives through military aggression, are now intensifying attempts to destabilise the Islamic Republic through economic pressure, cyberattacks, terrorism, and psychological warfare.
- Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf called on Islamic nations to strengthen cooperation and build their own power without external interference, emphasising that such unity is key to resolving regional crises.
- Senior adviser to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ali Akbar Velayati, warned that Iran will no longer rely on signatures and written promises in future negotiations, saying the strategic Strait of Hormuz remains the country’s ultimate leverage against foreign pressure and broken Western commitments.
- Mohammad Akbarzadeh, the political deputy of the IRGC Navy, said the US is “begging” for an agreement with Iran, amid the impacts of its illegal aggression against the Islamic Republic on fuel prices and its allies in the region.
- Deputy Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Bagheri Kani said Iran and Oman are negotiating a new framework for maritime transit through the Strait of Hormuz, stressing that passage through the strategic waterway will no longer follow previous arrangements.
- Senior Iranian and Iraqi security officials highlighted the role of the Resistance Front in establishing security in the region, as Tehran called on Baghdad to take decisive measures to prevent Iraq’s geography and territory from becoming a source of threats against Iran.
- Iran restored production at the South Pars industrial hub to its pre-war capacity after a long, intensive repair operation, according to Fars News Agency. The industrial zone was attacked by the US and Israel in the illegal war of aggression against the Islamic Republic.
- Ayatollah Seyyed Ahmad Khatami, Tehran’s Interim Friday Prayer Imam, asserted that the enemies of the Iranian nation hope to see the people fatigued, but will take that wish to their graves.
- Leading American political theorist John Mearsheimer said the United States and Israel have failed in their war against Iran, emphasising that Washington "does not know how to extricate itself" from the quagmire.
