Iran has intensified its diplomatic outreach to regional countries while reinforcing its uncompromising strategic posture, as contradictions deepen within US policy.
Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi shuttled between Islamabad and Muscat, engaging key regional and international actors, and plans to continue consultations in Moscow on Monday, signaling sustained efforts to secure a permanent end to the US-Israeli war against Iran.
At the same time, Iranian military and political officials underscored resilience on the ground. The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) reported the neutralization of US munitions while reaffirming its readiness to respond to further escalation.
The commander of the IRGC's Quds Force, Brigadier General Esmail Qa'ani, said the Axis of Resistance has emerged more unified and capable, rejecting claims that it is weakening.
Amid mounting regional tensions, ranging from continued Israeli strikes against Lebanon to expanded US military involvement, Tehran has framed its position as one of strategic balance: advancing diplomacy while maintaining deterrence, even as international voices increasingly question the effectiveness of Washington's pressure-based approach.
Key developments on day 58 of the war, the nineteenth day of the ceasefire:
- IRGC Quds Force chief Brigadier General Qa'ani said the Axis of Resistance is now stronger and more integrated than ever before. He dismissed Israel’s recent claims of destroying Hezbollah’s capabilities in Lebanon.
- Foreign Minister Araghchi returned to Islamabad for a second official visit in two days for further consultations with Pakistani mediators amid stalled negotiations with the United States.
- Araghchi held separate telephone conversations with his counterparts from Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Turkey as part of broad diplomatic efforts to end the US-Israeli aggression against the Islamic Republic.
- The Iranian foreign minister told the Omani ruler that the experience of the recent US-Israeli war against Iran shows that US military presence in the region does not bring security to host countries.
- Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi said he held talks with his Iranian counterpart on the Strait of Hormuz, describing the discussions as “good.”
- Iranian Foreign Minister will meet Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Monday to discuss the latest developments following a temporary ceasefire that halted US and Israeli attacks against the Islamic Republic.
- The IRGC said it has discovered 15 undetonated US missiles in the southern Iranian province of Hormozgan and thousands of bomblets in the northern province of Zanjan. Its bomb disposal teams had successfully neutralised more than 15 heavy American missiles in the province.
- Russia’s permanent representative to the international organisations in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, said that Washington’s long-standing policy of negotiating from a position of strength through military threats and illegal sanctions has failed against the Islamic Republic of Iran and must be abandoned
- Hezbollah strongly denounced Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu for accusing the resistance movement of undermining a ceasefire agreement in Lebanon, vowing to continue its “legitimate response” to the Israeli regime’s continuous violations of the truce.
- The Israeli military ordered the forced evacuation of seven Lebanese villages as it ramped up attacks on southern Lebanon despite a ceasefire.
- Lebanon’s Ministry of Public Health’s emergency operations centre said two Israeli raids on a truck and a motorcycle in the town of Yohmor al-Shaqif in the Nabatieh district killed four people.
- US President Donald Trump, his wife, Melania, and other top administration officials were evacuated from the White House Correspondents’ Dinner (WHCA) following a shooting incident.
- Trump said that the shooting was unrelated to the Iran war. “It’s not going to deter me from winning the war in Iran. I don’t know if that had anything to do with it, I really don’t think so, based on what we know.”
- Trump told reporters in Florida that he scrapped Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner’s visit because the talks involved too much travel and expense to consider an “inadequate offer” from the Iranians.
- A new report revealed that Israel sent the United Arab Emirates (UAE) an Iron Dome missile defence system with troops to operate days after the US and Israel launched their war of aggression against Iran.
- UK’s Chief Secretary to the Treasury, Darren Jones, said the economic fallout of the US-Israeli aggression on Iran could continue to affect households and businesses in the country for months as the government struggles to come up with contingency plans to mitigate the shocks.
