For nearly a month now, a war against Iran involving the United States and Israel has unfolded; one that began with a strike on a girls’ school in the country’s south.
Around 170 schoolgirls were killed. Later on it became clear that it was no accident, but a deliberate act, one that set the tone for what followed. In the days after, attacks on civilian areas continued. At the same time, several prominent national figures were assassinated in operations led by Israel and the United States.
The objective was clear: spread fear, destabilize the country, and, in the absence of key leadership, push Iran toward internal conflict. But nearly a month in, those goals appear unmet.
