The Iranian government has called upon the United Nations Security Council to take "urgent, collective measures" to halt a relentless and criminal war of aggression by the United States and Israel against its sovereign territory.
In a letter addressed to the President of the Security Council, the permanent representative of Iran detailed six consecutive days of large-scale military strikes that have targeted vital civilian infrastructure and densely populated areas.
The envoy reported that the death toll has climbed to 1,332 innocent civilians, including a significant number of women and children, according to figures released by the Iranian Red Crescent Society.
The latest wave of attacks has reportedly focused on sports and recreational facilities across the country.
In the most devastating incident cited, a missile struck a sports hall in the city of Lamerd in Fars Province during a training session.
The strike resulted in the martyrdom of more than 18 female volleyball players and left approximately 100 others injured.
The letter also noted that the casualties included internationally recognized athletes and world medalists in wrestling, judo, and taekwondo.

Strategic civilian landmarks in the capital were also among the targets.
The 12,000-seat Azadi Stadium and the Besat Sports Complex in Tehran sustained significant destruction, alongside several municipal sports halls and the National Judo Team Training Camp.
Iranian officials characterized these strikes as a systematic violation of international humanitarian law, arguing that the deliberate targeting of recreational centers constitutes a war crime.
The diplomatic appeal also revisited the heavy toll of the initial days of the conflict.
The envoy highlighted the destruction of a girls' elementary school in Minab, where more than 170 schoolgirls were killed on the first day of the aggression.

Subsequent strikes on the third day reportedly targeted major healthcare facilities, including the Motahhari and Khatam hospitals in Tehran and Abouzar Hospital in Ahvaz, as well as several emergency response checkpoints.
While urging the international community to unequivocally condemn these acts and ensure accountability for alleged war crimes, Iran maintained its stance on the right to retaliation.
The envoy stated that the Islamic Republic continues to exercise its inherent right to self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter and will undertake all necessary measures to safeguard its sovereignty and national interests until the aggression ceases.
