'Justice for bloodshed in Iran'

Iran says the United States and Israel must be held accountable for the blood of Iranians unjustly shed during the recent terrorist attacks in the country.  Addressing the UN human rights council in Geneva, Gharibabadi said Iran’s enemies, who suffered a severe defeat in the June war, tried to set the stage for another military operation by inciting unrest within the country. He slammed the terrorists for committing Daesh-style crimes resulting in the martyrdom of some 2,500 innocent civilians and security forces out of more than 3,000 killed. He added that some have fabricated the casualty numbers, yet none has been able to refute Iran’s officially released death toll with evidence. The official said although Iranians do not seek aggression against any land, they will stand firmly against any military or political conspiracy. He added the enemies may be able to start a war but they will not be able to determine its end.

Maliki defying US threat

This after US President Donald Trump threatened to cut all support to Iraq if Al-Maliki is elected Prime Minister. Al maliki called it blatant US interference in Iraq’s internal affairs and rejected it unequivocally.

Anti-EU move

Hungary and Slovakia are threatening to block new European Union sanctions on Russia and suspend key support for Ukraine. Hungary says it will veto the EU’s 20th sanctions package against Russia and a proposed 90-billion-euro loan for Kiev. It blames Ukraine for a prolonged outage of the Druzhba oil pipeline that endangers its energy supply. The Hungarian prime Minister has called the disruption an unprovoked act and pledged to block the loan until the issue is resolved. Hungary and Slovakia have also warned they could halt emergency electricity exports to Ukraine if oil shipments do not resume. Meanwhile, Russia and Ukraine have traded overnight airstrikes. Moscow says it shot down 150 Ukrainian drones, including dozens over the Belgorod region where significant damage to energy infrastructure is reported. Ukraine says Russia launched a missile and over 120 drones, killing two people in Odesa and one in Zaporizhzhia.
