At least one person has been killed and several others injured when the Israeli military conducted airstrikes against an area in southern Lebanon amid the Tel Aviv regime’s repeated violations of a ceasefire in place since late 2024.
Lebanon’s health ministry said one person was killed and three others wounded, including a 16-year-old boy, in an Israeli strike in Ebba in the Nabatiyeh district, which is located in the country’s south.
Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) said the strike targeted a vehicle whose driver was killed, reporting that a boy was among the wounded when his family’s car passed by at the time of the raid and crashed.
Earlier in the day, the ministry said a strike on Qanarit in the Sidon district, far from the Lebanese border with the occupied territories, wounded one person.
In October 2023, Israel initiated strikes against Lebanon, which intensified into a full-blown war by September 2024. More than 4,000 people were killed, and around 17,000 others were injured.
A ceasefire took effect on November 27, 2024. Under the deal, Tel Aviv was required to withdraw fully from Lebanese territory, but has kept forces stationed at five sites, in clear violation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701 and the terms of the November 2024 agreement.
Ceasefire breaches by Israel have resulted in the deaths and injuries of hundreds of Lebanese citizens.
Lebanese authorities have warned that the regime’s violations of the ceasefire threaten national stability.
