Israel has conducted new airstrikes on southern Lebanon despite the ceasefire agreement reached in 2024, killing two people.

“Israeli enemy strike... on a vehicle in the town of Zahrani in the Sidon district killed one person” on Wednesday, the Lebanese health ministry said, referring to an area far from the border with the occupied territories.

Later, the ministry said another person was killed in a similar strike targeting a vehicle in the town of Bazuriyeh in the Tyre district.

Israel claimed the attacks targeted fighters from the Lebanese resistance movement “in response to Hezbollah’s repeated violations of the ceasefire understandings.”

Israel has been repeatedly violating the truce since November 2024. The regime has killed at least 435 people in Lebanon, according to the health ministry.

The ceasefire took effect on November 27. Under the deal, Tel Aviv was required to withdraw fully from Lebanese territory—but has kept forces stationed at five sites in clear violation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701 and the terms of the November 2024 agreement.

Lebanese authorities have warned that the regime’s violations of the ceasefire threaten national stability.
