The Iranian Embassy in Beirut has condemned in the strongest terms the ongoing Israeli strikes on areas in southern Lebanon and the Beqaa Valley as a flagrant violation of the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, stating that the attacks have killed dozens of people and injured many more.

The diplomatic mission, in a post published on the social media platform X on Monday, said the relentless massacre of innocent civilians, violation of Lebanese sovereignty, and normalization of such attacks will not alter the fact that they are heinous crimes.

These attacks “will only increase the Lebanese nation's awareness of the extent of Zionist aggression, and their determination to resist,” the post read.

Lebanon’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, through its permanent mission to the United Nations in New York, has submitted a formal complaint to the UN Security Council and Secretary-General over ongoing Israeli violations of Lebanese sovereignty in recent months.

The ministry requested that the complaint be issued as an official UN document and distributed to all member states.

The complaint includes three detailed tables documenting daily Israeli breaches of Lebanese sovereignty in October, November, and December 2025, totaling 542, 691, and 803 violations, respectively, for a cumulative total of 2,036 incidents.

The ministry noted that these violations constitute a clear breach of Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as a violation of Israel’s obligations under UN Security Council Resolution 1701 and the ceasefire agreement.

Lebanon urged the Security Council to require Israel to fully implement Resolution 1701, adhere to the ceasefire, withdraw its forces from the five remaining positions it occupies in Lebanon, respect internationally recognized borders, end repeated violations of Lebanese sovereignty, release Lebanese hostages, and halt threats to Lebanon’s territorial integrity and political independence.

For the past few months, the Israeli regime, backed by the US, has been pushing to disarm the Hezbollah resistance group.

Israel and Lebanon reached a ceasefire in November 2024 after more than a year of attacks amid the genocidal war in Gaza. More than 4,000 people were killed, and 17,000 others were injured.

Under the ceasefire, Israeli forces were supposed to withdraw from southern Lebanon completely, but have only partially pulled out, maintaining a military presence at five outposts.
