Nepal stands against global imperialism

In a powerful display of solidarity, protesters took to the streets of Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, on Tuesday to condemn the recent US military operation in Venezuela.

Footage from the demonstration captured the voices of various progressive socialist organisations coming together in the Maitighar neighborhood, where participants strongly opposed the US intervention, describing it as a severe violation of human rights and Venezuelan sovereignty.

Chanting slogans and holding banners, the demonstrators called for the immediate release of President Nicolas Maduro, who made his first public appearance in a New York courtroom on Monday.

The demonstration underscored the solidarity of Nepalese groups with Venezuela and their call for a peaceful resolution to conflicts. Nepali political leaders and parties have strongly criticised the US military action in Venezuela, labelling it a clear violation of international law and a threat to national sovereignty.

US President Donald Trump earlier announced that the United States would oversee Venezuela's governance and utilise its natural resources as it sees fit.
