Iran retaliatory strikes
Iran's Army has launched fresh drone strikes on US military bases in the region under the title of “Operation Thunder”. In a statement, the Iranian Army said it carried out multiple waves of attacks targeting the accommodation and deployment positions of the US Army at Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain. Earlier, the Iranian Army said separate attacks targeted US bases in Kuwait. According to the IRGC, the attacks targeted administrative buildings and direction-finding antennas at Camp Arifjan as well as a helicopter parking area at Camp Al-Adairi in Kuwait. Also, accommodation facilities at Ahmad Al Jaber Air Base were targeted. The Army said the strikes were carried out in response to Washington’s repeated evil acts and violations of commitments. It further said that US military activities have undermined regional security. The Iranian Army underlined that the Islamic Republic is seeking to restore regional stability through its confrontation with the United States.
Iran Hormuz Strait Control
A senior Iranian official says the Strait of Hormuz is a pivotal asset in the hands of the country and it will never compromise on the strategic leverage. The deputy secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council says establishing the status quo of the strait was a key achievement of Iran during the recent war. Ali Bagheri Kani said in a televised interview that the waterway directly affects Iran’s national security and sovereignty. He vowed that Iran will never let the US materialize its delusions regarding control over the strait. Meanwhile, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps says two oil tankers were stopped while trying to transit the strait through the dangerous southern route, after they were hit with explosions. The force warned all shipping companies to avoid trusting the US military’s advice to take the route. The IRGC said the strait remains closed including to oil and gas exports, as long as the US continues its evil acts in the region.
Israel Gaza Strikes
Six members of a Palestinian family have been killed in an Israeli airstrike on a residential building in Gaza City, as Israel continues attacks despite a ceasefire that took effect last October. The deceased members of the family, including four children, lost their lives when an Israeli drone struck their home overnight. The explosion also sent shrapnel into nearby displacement camps, damaging tents and forcing residents to flee. Gaza health officials say more than 1m100 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks since the ceasefire began. And in a broader picture, the death toll from the genocidal war since October 2023 stands at close to 73,300.
