Iran will respond to any aggression, avenge blood of martyred Leader: Commander

Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC)’s Ground Force, Brigadier General Mohammad Karami

The commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC)’s Ground Force says Iran's armed forces are fully prepared to respond to any military aggression, while emphasizing the Islamic Republic’s commitment to avenging the blood of martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

Brigadier General Mohammad Karami made the remarks on Tuesday, while inspecting the IRGC Ground Force’s Madinah al-Munawwarah Headquarters, the force’s closest outpost to the strategic Strait of Hormuz, during which he reviewed the operational status of standing units and assessed the combat readiness of their personnel.

“By the grace and blessing of Almighty God, the Iranian people and the country's Armed Forces are fully prepared to respond to any act of aggression by any invading forces,” he said.

“The revenge for the blood of the martyred Leader and our martyred commanders will also be taken in the near future,” the commander added, reiterating an assertion made by the martyred Leader’s son and successor, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei.

Addressing the strategic importance of the coastal region within Iran's national defense doctrine, Karami said that the sustained presence of Ground Force units played a key role in maintaining security.

“Continuous preparedness, specialized training, and the strong presence of the IRGC Ground Force's units constitute the cornerstone of sustainable security across the waters of the Persian Gulf. Drawing on their jihadi spirit and constant vigilance, the courageous warriors stationed in this region have established a formidable barrier against the ambitions of the enemy,” he said.

Karami also stressed the importance of strengthening Iran's comprehensive defense posture, calling for the expansion of the popular defense network and enhancing the capabilities of volunteer Basji forces to help safeguard the country's strategic southern islands.

Referring to the hostile posture of the US military in the region, he said the Ground Force continuously adjusts its defensive posture based on ongoing developments.

“By closely monitoring the activities of extra-regional forces, the IRGC Ground Force continuously reorganizes and enhances its defensive capabilities to neutralize any potential threat.”
