Iran-Belarus ties

Iran and Belarus have signed three strategic documents aimed at strengthening their bilateral relations and coordinating key international issues. The agreements focus on countering unilateral sanctions, strengthening international law, and outlining a five-year cooperation plan between foreign ministries. During talks in Minsk, Iran’s foreign minister Abbas Araghchi and his Belarusian counterpart Maksim Ryzhenkov pledged to enhance cooperation within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, BRICS, and the United Nations. In a joint presser, Araghchi stressed that the two countries are adamant to continue their constructive relations based on mutual interests and respect.

Ukraine peace talks

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky says talks with US envoys to end the war with Russia were not easy but productive. Zelensky made the remarks at the end of the second day of talks in Berlin. He said Russia is using its relentless strikes as leverage in negotiations and not a single power station in Ukraine has been immune from attacks. Meanwhile, US officials expect Russia to accept the deal negotiated with Ukraine over the weekend, adding that 90% of the issues between the two sides have been resolved. Earlier, the Ukrainian president had stated willingness to forgo his country’s NATO membership in exchange for receiving security guarantees from the West.

Jews taking rap for Israel wars

Jewish communities around the world are taking the rap for the wars Benjamin Netanyahu has waged in Gaza and elsewhere in the region. The mass shooting in Bondi Beach, Australia being the last one in a string of incidents since the regime unleashed a genocide in Gaza in October 2023. Advocacy group, the Executive Council of Australian Jewry registered more than 3,700 anti-Jewish incidents in the past two years. The incidents include attacks on synagogues, Israeli embassies and Jewish celebrations. The FBI’s hate crime data and the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights have also recorded between 200 and 400 percent rise in anti-Semitic activities since the outbreak of the Gaza war. Netanyahu has repeatedly blamed the rising anti-Semitic attacks on countries that have recognized Palestinian statehood, the latest one being Canberra. The Australian Prime Minister has rejected the allegation saying that his role at this time is to bring the nation together and to promote unity.
