Slamming anti-Iran resolution

Iran’s foreign minister says the United States and European powers have assaulted diplomacy every step of the way and brought about the collapse of the Cairo Agreement between Tehran and the International Atomic Energy Agency.  Abbas Araghchi said that despite Iran signing a deal with the IAEA in Cairo to resume inspections in the aftermath of US-Israeli aggression, the E3 pursued UN sanctions against Tehran under US pressure. He added that when Iran began giving IAEA inspectors access to its unharmed nuclear facilities, the US and the E3 moved together to censure Tehran at the IAEA Board of Governors. Abbas Araghchi emphasized that it is clear Iran is not the party seeking to manufacture another crisis, warning that the US and the E3 are seeking escalation. Earlier, foreign ministry spokesman Esmail Baqaei commented on the anti-Iran resolution adopted by the IAEA Board of Governors. He said it is a clear misuse of an international institution and deals a blow to the agency’s independence and credibility. The Russian foreign ministry also slammed the anti-Iran resolution as a serious blow to international trust in the IAEA.

Plight of Gaza children

Israel has launched fresh attacks across the Gaza Strip, wounding children and violating the ceasefire agreement yet again. In northern Gaza, an Israeli drone strike injured four children in Beit Lahia. Israeli helicopters and drones also struck eastern Jabalia, while a powerful explosion was heard in the al-Bureij camp. In the south, Nasser Hospital reports that Israeli forces shot dead a displaced person near Khan Yunis city. According to UNICEF, an average of nearly two children have been killed in Gaza every day since the ceasefire took effect in October. That’s at least 67 children killed, with dozens more injured. Israel’s genocidal war since October 2023 has claimed the lives of over 69,500 Palestinians.

Expelling Israel from Lebanon

Hezbollah resistance movement has released a statement on the anniversary of Lebanon’s independence, calling for the expulsion of Israeli forces from the country’s south. The group said it will continue to stand against the Zionist regime’s occupation. Hezbollah said the movement forced the regime to withdraw its forces in 2000, defeated the Takfiri terrorism project in 2017, and did not allow Israel to achieve its goals in 2024. The resistance group said Lebanon’s independence is only possible through confronting foreign projects and consolidating its sovereignty. Hezbollah said it is against any dependence on foreign powers. It also emphasized that Lebanon must maintain its strengths to counter plots against it and the region.
