US to be held accountable
Iran says US president’s confession on cooperation with the Israel in the regime’s June aggression against Iran will carry consequences for the US government. Iran’s foreign ministry’s spokesman in his weekly press conference said Iran has registered Trump’s confession as evidence with the United Nations and the Security Council. Esmaeil Baqaei added that it will be used as a clear proof of the US involvement in the aggression in any international court. The Israel’s unprovoked aggression in June claimed the lives of more than 11-hundred Iranians including military commanders, nuclear scientists and ordinary people.
Israel's Lebanon aggression
Israel has once again violated its ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah, launching fresh attacks across southern Lebanon. In al-Baisariyah, a drone strike targeted a civilian vehicle, killing at least one person. An airstrike in Houmine, Nabatieh also claimed another life. The border town of Houla was rocked by two massive explosions, leveling several buildings. Despite the ceasefire, Israeli forces remain heavily deployed across southern Lebanon, conducting near-daily air raids. Since the ceasefire took effect in November 2024, more than 100 Lebanese civilians have reportedly been killed in Israeli attacks.
US government shutdown
The US Senate has taken a major step forward to reopen the federal government and end the longest government shutdown so far. The compromise bill will refund the government through January 2026. It will also undo layoffs due to the shutdown. The measure got exactly the 60 votes it needed to get past the Senate. It will require approval by the House of Representatives and the president before becoming law. The measure includes three funding bills to ensure the departments of veterans’ affairs and agriculture remain operational through the 2026 fiscal year. That covers the key food aid program Democrats required the government to maintain.
