Israel withholding bodies of Palestinian martyrs

Since its creation in 1948, Israel has adopted a policy of withholding the bodies of Palestinians killed by its forces — a tactic aimed at punishing the aggrieved families further.

More than 730 bodies, including those of children and women, are still held in military morgues and buried in the so-called “cemeteries of numbers” or secret graves.
