Sewage polluted coastline drives surge in contagious skin diseases in Gaza

A grave public health emergency is unfolding in Gaza, where the destruction of sewage infrastructure has pushed untreated waste into the sea, leaving the coastline dangerously contaminated.

That pollution is now linked to a widespread chickenpox outbreak, with thousands of cases reported—most of them children.
