Gazans still being killed

Deadly violence continues across the Gaza Strip despite a ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel. At least four Palestinians have been gunned down today. Twenty-two bodies have also been recovered from under the rubble. The genocidal war on Gaza which began in October 2023 has killed almost 68,000 people and wounded more than 170,000 others. According to Gaza’s Media Office, Israeli airstrikes have left up to 70 million tons of rubble in Gaza, destroying homes, hospitals, and vital infrastructure. The devastation is blocking the delivery of much-needed aid. In addition, around 20,000 unexploded ordnance remain scattered across Gaza which need to be removed before any reconstruction can begin.

'Israel failed in Gaza'

The leader of Yemen’s Ansarullah Movement says the Gaza ceasefire agreement marks a major defeat for the Israeli regime that's failed to achieve any of the key objectives it sought after months of genocide in the Palestinian territory. Al-Houthi also said that Israel, despite having full Western support, failed to achieve its objective of bringing Gaza under full control. He expressed gratitude to all resistance movements that have supported Palestinians in their struggle against occupation. Al-Houthi praised Iran as one of the main sponsors of the Palestinian cause and a country that confronted Israel directly during the June 12-day war. Pointing to Israel’s ongoing violations of the Gaza ceasefire, including the killing of civilians and restrictions on aid delivery, the Yemeni leader described Israel as a regime that respects no treaty except by force.

UK bans Russian, Chinese firms

Strongly dissatisfied with Britain’s new unilateral sanctions, China has lodged formal protests with London over measures targeting Chinese and Russian energy firms. Beijing’s foreign ministry spokesperson also said Normal exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and Russian enterprises should not be disrupted and China will take necessary measures to resolutely safeguard its legitimate rights and interests. The UK has imposed restrictions on Russian oil giants as well as Chinese refiners and port operators. Britain says the sanctions are aimed at tightening pressure on Moscow’s energy revenues.
