Slamming Israel crimes

On the eve of the second anniversary of Operation al-Aqsa Flood by the Hamas resistance movement, the Vatican’s top diplomat has sharply slammed what he called the ongoing massacre of Palestinians in Gaza. Speaking in an interview, Cardinal Pietro Parolin said the war waged by Israel on Hamas disregards the fact that it is targeting a largely defenseless population. He added that the people of Gaza have been pushed to the brink, in an area where buildings and homes are reduced to rubble. Parolin said it is clear that the international community is unfortunately powerless. He added that those countries that are truly capable of exerting influence, have so far failed to act to stop the ongoing massacre. Parolin asserted that it’s not enough to say what is happening in Gaza is unacceptable, and then continue to allow it to happen. He also called for a halt to supplying Israel with weapons that are being used against civilians.

US-Israeli Gaza genocide

Despite US President Donald Trump's claim that Israel has reduced its attacks on Gaza in line with Washington’s peace plan, the regime’s genocidal war continues to claim more civilian lives across the territory. According to Gaza’s Government Media Office, Israeli forces carried out over one-hundred-30 air and artillery strikes across Gaza during the past 48 hours, claiming the lives of over ninety civilians, mostly women and children. More than 60 fatalities were reported in Gaza City alone. The UN agency for Palestinian refugees said Israel keeps killing children while they are sleeping, taking shelter in schools, lining up for water, or seeking medical assistance. According to Palestinian sources, another journalist lost his life in the Israeli forces’ shelling of Gaza City on Monday. Two aid seekers were also killed by the regime’s forces. The Israeli genocide has so far killed 67,160 Palestinians in Gaza, leaving more than 169,600 others injured.

Tensions in West Asia

Iran's UN ambassador has warned that the situation in West Asia is extremely grave as a result of interventionist and militaristic policies of some extra-regional powers, and the Israeli genocide in Gaza. Amir Saeid Iravani was addressing a meeting of the UN General Assembly’s Second Committee. Iran's ambassador said the current conditions are pushing back the region’s development and exacerbating its challenges day by day. He also slammed US-Israeli acts of aggression against Iran and its nuclear facilities as blatant violations of the UN Charter, international law, and international humanitarian law. Iran's envoy added that the attacks also undermined international peace and security, and gravely jeopardized the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. Iravani warned that unilateralism is threatening the world by undermining the foundations of peace, stability, and development, and must be firmly rejected. He stressed that the world urgently requires multilateralism, solidarity, and collective action with the central role of the United Nations.
