Genocide in Gaza

Another deadly day in the endless cycle of bloodshed in Gaza; dozens of Palestinians have lost their lives in fresh Israeli attacks since early morning. Tens of others were also wounded as a result of the new strikes. According to medical sources in Gaza, Israeli warplanes pounded tents for the displaced in Khan Yunis. In another strike, an entire family of five was killed in Deir al-Balah. At least one aid seeker was killed and several others injured, as a distribution center in the Netzerim corridor became the scene of Israeli attacks. The death toll from the US-Israeli genocide since October 2023 stands at over 62,900. Nearly 159,270 others were also injured.

Slamming snapback activation

Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says any attempt by the European Troika to revive anti-Iran sanctions of the UN Security Council is invalid and ineffective. In a letter to the EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, Araghchi said France, Germany, and the UK have no legal jurisdiction to activate the snapback mechanism of the JCPOA. The top Iranian diplomat called on the E3 to facilitate genuine diplomacy and preserve multilateralism. In a separate letter to the UN chief and the UNSC, Araghchi said the resolution 2231 must end on its expiry date. The Iranian foreign minister called on UNSC members to reject political machinations, adding that mutual respect is the only path forward. Meanwhile, an Iranian lawmaker says a triple-urgency bill for Tehran’s withdrawal from the NPT will be presented in the Iranian parliament following the E3 decision to activate the snapback mechanism.

Yemenis solidarity with Palestine

Yemenis have once again held a mass rally in the northern city of Sa’ada to reaffirm their solidarity with Palestinians and condemn the genocidal war on Gaza. The protesters carried Yemeni and Palestinian flags and chanted slogans in condemnation of the Israeli crimes in Gaza as well as the Israeli aggression against Yemen. They also expressed support for the Yemeni armed forces for their anti-Israel operations. Yemenis have been holding pro-Palestine rallies almost every Friday since the beginning of the genocide in Gaza in October 2023.
