US-Israeli Gaza genocide

Israel’s relentless airstrikes and bombings across the Gaza Strip continue to claim more civilian lives, including hungry Palestinians waiting to receive food at aid distribution centers. A series of air raids since dawn killed at least 13 people. Among the victims were four members of a single family in northern Gaza. Four hungry aid seekers—one of them a child—were killed near a crossing in the city of Deir al-Balah. In Gaza City’s Al-Rimal neighborhood, a flare hit the tents of displaced people, setting several ablaze. On the ground, Israeli forces continued their operations to wipe out the Jabalia refugee camp to pave the way for the land invasion of Gaza City. Israeli military’s engineering units deployed explosive robots to systematically blow up residential buildings and critical infrastructure in the City’s al-Shuja'iya, al-Tuffah, al-Sabra, and al-Zaytoun neighborhoods. The death toll from the Israeli genocide since October 2023 is nearly 62,700, with around 158,000 others injured.

Gaza ceasefire efforts

A senior Hamas official has condemned Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu’s refusal to accept the mediators’ latest proposal for the establishment of a ceasefire in Gaza. Hamas Political Bureau member, Bassem Naim, said Netanyahu is deliberately stalling the Gaza peace talks to protect himself and his far-right cabinet, and escalate that war on Gaza. He cited recent media reports indicating that the regime has rejected a partial deal with Hamas, saying Tel Aviv wants a comprehensive agreement with US backing. Naim emphasized that Hamas has not received any official response to its latest truce offer, or any new proposal on a comprehensive deal. He stressed that the movement has accepted multiple truce deals, including a recent one offered by the mediators in Cairo, but Israel has rejected all of them. Naim condemned the United States’ unbridled support for Israel, calling on Arab and Islamic countries to mount political, diplomatic, and economic pressure on the regime.

Iran calls for Islamic unity

Iran’s president says creating divisions either within Iran or among Islamic nations serves the interests of Israel. Masoud Pezeshkian made the remarks during a ceremony marking the beginning of the Government Week. He emphasized that any rhetoric that undermines national cohesion is considered a betrayal. He said if unity prevails, the enemy won’t dare look at Iranians with hostility. Pezeshkian also highlighted the ongoing efforts by Israel and the United States to sow seeds of division and discord among Muslims in order to pit regional nations against one another. The Iranian president called for an end to the conflicts, both domestically and with neighboring countries, and urged for stronger unity among Muslim nations.
