Iran's warning
Iran’s defense ministry has warned that any regional adventure or miscalculation by the enemy will be met with firm response from the country’s powerful armed forces. Marking Defense Industry Day, the ministry highlighted advances in missile, aerospace, and weapon technologies, saying they have elevated the country from dependency to regional military strength. It cited the recent 12-day war imposed by Israeli regime and the US reaffirmed the importance of producing deterrent defense systems. Meanwhile, in a message to the defense minister, Chief of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi said Iran’s defense achievements have played a vital role in strengthening the country’s deterrence. The top Iranian general said the only way to protect the country from emerging threats is to upgrade and modernize military systems, equipment, and weapons.
US-Israel genocide in Gaza
The Israeli regime presses ahead with its genocidal war on Gaza, killing more innocent women and children. The latest attacks targeted tents sheltering displaced families near a school in Shati refugee camp, leaving five people dead and nearly a dozen others injured. Israeli jets launched airstrikes on the city of Jabalia in northern Gaza. Three aid seekers were also killed in the regime strike in central Gaza. Meanwhile on the ground, Israel continues its military assault on Gaza City which it plans to seize and forcibly displace close to one-million people. Heavy artillery fire targeted different parts of Gaza City. Israel says it will call up 60,000 reservists in the coming days. The Israeli regime launched its genocidal war on Gaza in October 2023. Nearly 62,200 Palestinians, mostly women and children have been killed since then.
UN ceasefire call
UN Secretary General Antonio Guterresh has called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, warning about the consequences of the Israeli regime’s occupation of Gaza City.
