A recent video footage has exposed the circumstances surrounding the tragic killing of a Palestinian girl north of the Gaza Strip, when an Israeli missile hit her as she was carrying a gallon of water for her family.
The video, recently acquired by the Qatar-based Al Jazeera television news network, depicts the moment when a projectile fired by an Israeli drone struck 12-year-old Amna Ashraf al-Mufti while she was transporting water in Jabalia in northern Gaza in December 2024.
Two individuals, apparently paramedics, are subsequently seen recovering her body.

As reported by Al Jazeera, the mother of the girl was fatally injured in a subsequent Israeli assault in the area a few days later.
The situation that befell the Palestinian girl was not an isolated tragedy; rather, it is indicative of a consistent pattern where the Israeli occupation forces intentionally and systematically aim at Palestinian children.
At least 61,944 Palestinians have been killed, mostly women and children, and another 155,886 individuals have been injured in the brutal Israeli onslaught on Gaza since October 7, 2023, according to the health ministry of Gaza.
In November 2024, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Benjamin Netanyahu and former minister of military affairs Yoav Gallant, citing war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) for its war on the besieged coastal territory.
