Attack on Gaza aid seekers
The Israeli military presses ahead with its air and artillery strikes across Gaza, killing more Palestinians in its latest round of attacks. Most of the victims are women and children. More than 50 Palestinians have been killed in series of Israeli attacks across Gaza since dawn. That includes some thirty Palestinian aid seekers who were killed by direct Israeli fire. Other Israeli attacks on Gaza were also deadly. The latest strike targeted Gaza’s al-Shuja’iyyah neighborhood, killing at least three Palestinians and injuring several others. Several other people were killed after Israeli warplanes bombed aid security personnel at the Tawam roundabout, northwest of Gaza. Casualties were also reported following the Israeli bombing of al-Tuffah neighborhood, northeast of Gaza City. The death toll from the US- Israeli genocide in Gaza since October 2023 is now at 60,730. More than 148,700 people have also been injured.
Israeli captives in Gaza
The military wing of the Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas, has published a video of an Israeli captive suffering from malnutrition amid the regime’s blockade of humanitarian aid into Gaza. In the video, published by the al-Qassam Brigades, the Israeli captive says he is living in very difficult conditions amid Israeli obstruction of food entry into Gaza. Evyatar David says he barely gets food and water to stay alive. The captive says he is getting slimmer every day as he gets to eat lentils and beans almost on a daily basis. He called on Israeli authorities, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to have some care for him and other captives held by Hamas. More than five months of total Israeli blockade of Gaza aid has exacerbated humanitarian conditions there. Fatalities are being reported on a daily basis amid acute hunger and malnutrition in the strip.
Iran-Pakistan relations
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has arrived in Pakistan’s Islamabad for high-level talks aimed at strengthening bilateral relations. Earlier, the president made a stop in Lahore to pay tribute at the tomb of Persian-speaking poet Muhammad Iqbal. There, he stressed that if Muslims unite, the Israeli regime would no longer be able to target independent nations one by one. The president also stated that the people of Iran have revived their glorious history by standing firm against the Israeli regime. Before his visit, he expressed Iran’s desire to join the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and extend its route toward Europe.
