 Triggering snapback ‘illegal’

Iran reiterates that the European Union and the European Troika have no legal ground to trigger the snapback mechanism of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, the JCPOA. Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said activation of such a mechanism is illegal. He added that the JCPOA is not in effect currently, adding that the European parties to the 2015 deal did not remain committed to that after the US withdrawal. Gharibabadi noted that the Western parties to the JCPOA cannot blame Iran for failing to abide by the JCPOA commitments when they themselves have failed to do so. The deputy foreign minister said the Iranian delegation will assert its position firmly during the upcoming meeting with representatives from the UK, France and Germany on Friday in Istanbul. The talks in the Turkish city are set to revolve around Tehran’s nuclear program.

US-Israeli Genocide in Gaza

Rising death toll, ruined homes and shattered lives; these are what Palestinians have been enduring in Gaza where even aid seekers are not safe from Israeli attacks. Over two dozen people have been killed in Gaza since dawn. Among the victims are 13 Palestinians who lost their lives in an Israeli artillery attack on tents housing the displaced in the Shati refugee camp in Gaza City. Two children also died due to severe malnutrition and a lack of essential nutrients. According to the Palestine Red Crescent, nearly 120 wounded Palestinians have been treated at al-Quds hospital in Gaza City since the early hours of this morning. The US-Israeli genocide, which began on October 2023, has so far killed more than 59,000 Palestinians, leaving over 142,100 others injured.

Yemen anti-Israel operations

The Yemeni Armed Forces have carried out another retaliatory operation against Israel, targeting Ben Gurion airport with a hypersonic ballistic missile. Spokesman Yahya Saree said the operation successfully achieved its goal and halted the airport’s operation. He added that the missile strike forced Israeli residents to flee to shelters. The spokesman also praised the Yemeni people for supporting the oppressed Palestinians amid the Gaza genocide. Saree underlined that Yemen’s anti-Israel operations will continue as long as the genocide rages on and Israel’s blockade of the Palestinian territory is not lifted. The latest retaliatory operation was launched following a drone strike by the Israeli military on Yemen's port city of Hudaydah.
