Gaza ceasefire resolution
The United States has once again vetoed a UN Security Council resolution that demanded an immediate and unconditional ceasefire in Gaza. The resolution, put forward by the 10 elected members of the Council, did not pass due to the negative vote by the US. The text called for an immediate, unconditional and permanent ceasefire in Gaza. It also demanded the lifting of all restrictions on the entry of humanitarian aid into the besieged territory. This was the Council’s first vote on the issue since November last year, when the US blocked another resolution, which also sought to end Israel’s war on Gaza. Following the veto, ambassadors of several UN members criticized Washington’s move. China’s permanent envoy stressed that the veto proved that the US is the main obstacle to measures that would end the war in Gaza.
Yemen anti-Israel operations
The Yemeni army says it has carried out a fresh retaliatory operation against Israel in response to the regime’s genocidal war on the besieged Gaza Strip. Saree said Yemen will continue to fulfill its religious, moral, and humanitarian duty toward the oppressed Palestinian people. The spokesman added that the Yemeni armed forces will press ahead their anti-regime operations until the aggression against Gaza stops, and its siege is lifted. The Yemeni army carries out almost daily operations against Israel, striking vital targets deep inside the occupied Palestinian territories.
Iran enrichment right
The Iranian foreign minister has reiterated that the country’s right to enrich uranium is non-negotiable, and Tehran will never give it up under any circumstances. Abbas Araghchi made the comment in an interview with al-Manar television during his recent visit to Lebanon. He said uranium enrichment is one of the greatest achievements of Iranian scientists, and is essential for meeting medical and industrial needs of the country. The top diplomat stressed that a number of Iranian scientists have paid with their lives for this achievement and the country will never abandon it regardless of pressures. He also issued a clear warning to any would-be aggressors, saying any attack on Iran will have catastrophic consequences for the aggressors. Araghchi highlighted Iran’s deterrence capabilities, noting that the country’s nuclear facilities are protected in a way that makes any decapitating strike nearly impossible. He emphasized that Iran's nuclear program is powered by the minds and expertise of its people and cannot be eliminated by bombing.
