US-Israeli Gaza genocide

It’s another deadly night for Palestinians in Gaza, as the Israeli military intensifies its attacks against innocent women and children across the blockaded territory. In one of the deadliest attacks, at least a dozen Palestinians, mostly children, were slaughtered after Israeli warplanes bombed two Palestinian homes in Jabaliya, northern Gaza. Tens of others were injured. Israeli attacks on Deir al-Balah, central Gaza, were also deadly with multiple fatalities reported in a number of residential areas. In Khan Yunis, southern Gaza, Israeli drones targeted Palestinian civilians, killing at least two and injuring several others. In the Shuja'iyya neighborhood of Gaza City, a number of children were killed in an airstrike on a home. According to Gaza officials, the overall death toll from the regime’s genocide since October 2023 is nearing 53,600, with about 121,700 others injured. The death toll includes over 3,400 Palestinians killed since the resumption of the regime’s genocide on March 18.

Gaza ceasefire talks

The Israeli regime has recalled its senior Gaza negotiators from Doha, just days after launching an intensified military offensive across the besieged territory. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said after about a week of intensive contacts in Doha, senior negotiators have been recalled for consultations, while working levels will remain. It accused Hamas of refusing to accept a deal. In response, Hamas condemned Netanyahu for systematically obstructing talks, adding that the Israeli delegation has not held any real negotiations since last Sunday. The group also accused Israel of using false gestures of negotiation to mislead global public opinion into believing it seeks a ceasefire in Gaza. Hamas reiterated its commitment to considering any initiative aimed at halting the genocide, ensuring Israeli withdrawal, lifting the blockade, and allowing humanitarian aid into Gaza. Qatar, which serves as the mediator, also said Israel's "irresponsible and aggressive behavior" has undermined the chances of a ceasefire.

Rejecting US-Israeli accusations

Iran has strongly rejected the latest accusations leveled by the US and Israel about violating the UN arms embargo, describing them as baseless and politically motivated. Addressing the UN Security Council, Iran's UN ambassador, said accusations against Tehran are not only misleading but also deliberately attempt to distort the realities in the region. Amir Saeid Iravani added that by leveling such accusations, the US and Israel are trying to deflect attention from the main reasons behind instability and insecurity in the Red Sea and beyond. He said the root causes of instability in the Red Sea and the region are Israel’s ongoing atrocities in Gaza and its continued aggression, which are supported by the US, and carried out with impunity. Iravani stressed that Iran remains fully committed to international maritime law and cooperates with all responsible stakeholders to ensure sea lanes remain open and secure.
