Iran port incident

Iran's Interior Minister blames "negligence" for a massive explosion at the Shahid Rajaee Port. Eskandar Momeni says firefighting teams have brought the blaze under control at the Port, though certain slow-burning materials may smolder for days. Provincial authorities will continue to address the remaining hazards. Meanwhile Iran's Judiciary Chief Gholam Hossein Mohseni-Ejei has emphasized that relevant judiciary officials, including the Prosecutor General, should collaborate with security and intelligence agencies to swiftly identify those responsible for the incident. The Judiciary Chief urged the Prosecutor General to form a special force if necessary to expedite the investigation. The death toll from the incident currently stands at 65.

"Inferno in Gaza"

The International Committee of the Red Cross says renewed Israeli airstrikes have unleashed a new inferno in the Gaza Strip. Red Cross director general, Pierre Krahenbuhl, highlighted the trauma of the families of Palestinian prisoners and more than 1,400 first responders killed in the Israeli atrocities in Gaza. His remarks came as a dozen Palestinian civilians were killed and several more injured in only one of the Israeli airstrikes north of the Gaza Strip. According to the Health Ministry, at least 72 people lost their lives across the besieged strip in 24 hours. That has increased the death toll from the genocidal war since October 2023 to more than 52,310. Nearly 117,800 others have been injured.

US Yemen attack "brutal crime"

Yemen's Ansarullah movement has strongly condemned a recent US airstrike on a detention center in Saada, housing African migrants. Ansarullah spokesman Mohammed Abdul Salam took to X to denounce the strike as a "brutal crime" accusing Washington of deliberately targeting civilians under the guise of military operations. Abdul Salam criticized the international community's silence, which he believes emboldens the US to stage further attacks on residential areas. He urged global action to address what he described as "premeditated crimes and terrorism" by the US military. The detention center, reportedly housing over 100 African migrants, was struck amid US military operations against Yemen.
