US-Israeli genocide in Gaza
The UN Agency for Palestinian Refugees has condemned Israel’s total blockade on entry of aid into Gaza as a man-made and politically-motivated starvation. UNRWA chief Philippe Lazzarini in a social media post, said that Israel is ignoring all calls to allow entry of supplies nearly two months into the new blockade. The agency separately said around 500-thousand Palestinians have been displaced by the Israeli onslaught on Gaza only over the past month. The UN agency said civilians have been crammed into overcrowded shelters where service providers are struggling to operate. This, UNRWA said, has resulted in terrible conditions for the civilians.
Israel's West bank atrocities
Hamas has called for mobilization against escalating settler attacks in the occupied West Bank. In a statement, the resistance movement stressed that settler attacks and brutal crimes in the West Bank are a continuation of the escalating war of extermination against our people in Gaza. Hamas said these attacks are meant to expedite the implementation of the occupation’s plans of annexation and displacement. The movement called on the people of the West Bank and its revolutionary youth to confront the settlers’ attacks and mobilize to repel their attacks, which were carried out under the protection of the occupation forces.
India-Pakistan tensions
Iran has offered to mediate between India and Pakistan amid an escalating row over a terrorist attack in the Indian-administered Kashmir region. In a social media post, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said Tehran is ready to use its good offices to create greater understanding between the parties during this difficult time. He stated that India and Pakistan are both brothers and neighbors of Iran, with relations rooted in centuries-old cultural and civilization ties. Tensions have been escalating between Islamabad and New Delhi after an April 22 armed attack killed 26 tourists in Pahalgam. Indian police identified two of the gunmen as Pakistani nationals. Araghchi emphasized the importance of restraint and patience on both sides to manage the crisis properly.
