US-Israeli Gaza Genocide

Another deadly day for Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip as the Israeli military continues to pound the blockaded territory with more air and artillery attacks. In a new massacre in Gaza, over 70 people, mostly women and children were killed in an Israeli airstrike on Beit Lahia in northern Gaza. Dozens of others were also wounded in the attack. The strike drew strong condemnation from the Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas. The group, in a statement, said the silence of the Arab countries and the inaction of the international community has encouraged the regime to commit more massacres across Gaza. In the southern city of Rafah, a drone strike left at least two dead. An Israeli airstrike on the Saftawi area, northwest of Gaza city, resulted in a number of Palestinian fatalities. Since October last year, the US-Israeli genocide in Gaza has killed over 42,500 Palestinians and injured nearly 100,000 others.

Hezbollah retaliatory operation

Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement has launched fresh retaliatory strikes against Israeli military positions in response to the regime’s acts of aggression. Hezbollah launched rocket strikes against Haifa in northern occupied Palestinian territories, setting off security sirens there. The resistance movement earlier also fired rockets and shelled Israeli troops and artillery positions both in Lebanon and in occupied Palestinian territories. They hit Kfar Kila, Aita al-Shaab, Zarit settlement, and Beit Hillel barracks. These came after Hezbollah launched a surprise drone attack on the residence of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the town of Caesarea, despite the regime’s multi-layered air defense system operating in the area.

Anti-Netanyahu protests

Thousands have taken to the streets of Tel Aviv yet again, demanding that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sign a deal with the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas to secure the release of captives held in Gaza. The protesters slammed Netanyahu’s cabinet for not reaching such a deal after a year of its genocidal war on Gaza. According to Egyptian officials, one of the earliest proposals for a deal was put forward in October last year, which the Israeli regime rejected. After that, Hamas agreed to a ceasefire deal proposed by US President Joe Biden. Yet, Netanyahu’s cabinet altered the proposal and broke off the deal. The Israeli regime has time and again rejected all efforts aimed at reaching a ceasefire in Gaza. In response, weekly anti-Netanyahu rallies have been held in Tel Aviv, with protesters voicing their anger at the prime minister and accusing him of wanting to remain in power by prolonging the genocidal war.
